The 2026 NewFoS Stakeholder Meeting brought together researchers, students, and industry partners for an immersive two-day experience of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- 115 stakeholders invited along with our dedicated NewFoS members
- 200 attendees engaged in presentations, discussions, and networking
- 25 companies participated in our After5 mixer, while 11 companies were present on Day 1
Highlights & Innovations
- First NewFoS Industry Spotlight: Dassault Systèmes showcased Geometric Phase Software Development as a translational asset
- Giving Menu: Introduced as a structured pathway for industry engagement
Research & Education
- 20 posters and 17 lightning talks embedded in industry-facing sessions
- 15 presentations covering seed projects, REM program updates, evaluation metrics, and student projects
- Students led the textbook review during the site visit, highlighting educational innovation
Engagement & Experiences
- Interactive sessions included posters, lightning talks, scavenger hunts, an Industry Spotlight, roundtables, entrepreneurship sessions, and After5 mixer – Photonics Day
- Special events: Photonics Days (40 attendees), After5 Tech Mix (65 attendees), and Week of Sound
The 2026 Stakeholder Meeting reinforced NewFoS’s mission to bridge academic research, industry application, and community impact.
