On September 7th, 2023, Governor Katie Hobbs and University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins made the announcement of the New Frontiers of Sound, a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center (STC) funded by a five-year, $30 million grant from the NSF. The announcement included the participation of Pierre Deymier, NewFoS director; Sara Chavarria, Co-PI; David W. Hahn, Dean of the College of Engineering at UA; Andrea Alú, Co-PI; and Janet Yowell, Education team. They expressed the groundbreaking applications of Topological Acoustics (TA) and how honored they are with this award, highlighting the benefits the STC to this field.
