The NewFoS community is thrilled to congratulate Michael Leamy on his appointment as Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics (JVA). Leamy, who serves as Senior Personnel at NewFoS and Director of Graduate Studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will lead the prestigious journal for the next five years, with his term running until June 30, 2029.

In his new role, Leamy will be at the forefront of enhancing the journal's impact, ensuring the highest standards of ethics and quality in manuscript submission, review, and publication. His leadership is expected to drive the journal forward, building on its reputation as a leading publication in the field.

"Being appointed Editor-in-Chief is personally gratifying as my academic advisor at the University of Michigan, Professor Noel Perkins (now retired), whom I looked up to a great deal, also served as the Editor-in-Chief for JVA during his career," said Leamy.

This appointment reflects Leamy’s dedication and expertise in the field of vibration and acoustics, and we look forward to seeing his contributions to the journal over the coming years.
