NewFoS is proud to highlight Arturo Whipple, an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, for his recent presentation at the Engineering 102A Colloquium. Representing the College of Optical Sciences and Engineering, Arturo shared insights on career advancement opportunities for optics students, emphasizing his experience with the New Frontiers of Sound (NewFoS) STC and the value of interdisciplinary research.

As a participant in the NewFoS Research Experience and Mentoring (REM) program, Arturo blends his expertise in optical sciences with topological acoustics, focusing on the fabrication of education-grade superlattice prototypes. His research journey spans both Georgia Tech and the University of Arizona, reflecting his dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation at the intersection of sound and light.
