UA College of Engineering Celebrates Outstanding Faculty Achievements

The University of Arizona College of Engineering is proud to recognize two of its exceptional faculty members for their remarkable contributions to research, teaching, and innovation.

Dr. Zafer Mutlu, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, has received the Peterson Outstanding Early Career Faculty Award. Since joining the College in 2020, Dr. Mutlu has secured millions in research funding and continues to advance semiconductor research while mentoring students and fostering workforce development. 🧪🔬

Dr. Pierre Deymier, Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, was named a 2025 da Vinci Circle Fellow and a 2025 UArizona Alumni Extraordinary Faculty. With over 40 years of service, Dr. Deymier leads the NSF-funded New Frontiers of Sound Science and Technology Center, awarded $30 million, and continues to inspire generations of researchers through his visionary leadership in materials science and topological acoustics. 🔊
