Peer Symposium Series – A Year of Collaboration, Learning, and Inspiration
From launching the year with purpose to celebrating collective achievements, the 2025 NewFoS Peer Symposium Series has built spaces for connection, collaboration, and discovery across our community.
🎯 Objective
The Peer Symposiums were designed to foster a supportive environment where students and postdocs could connect across cohorts, engage in mentorship, and strengthen their sense of belonging in NewFoS, STEM, and higher education. Each session aimed to empower participants with tools and opportunities to pursue fulfilling career paths.
📌 Goals
- Establish a structured mentorship program where students, postdocs, and early-career scientists actively support professional development.
- Provide networking opportunities, internships, and career workshops to expose participants to diverse career paths in STEM.
- Encourage collaborative discussions and projects that address key challenges—particularly in Topological Acoustics—emphasizing innovation and diverse perspectives.
These symposiums have become more than events—they are a living network of curiosity, collaboration, and community.
Here’s to continuing the momentum into the next year of growth, learning, and discovery!
